Local Government Minister opens Gasabo Public Exhibition

Rwanda’s Minister of Local Government Prof. Anastase Shyaka has officially opened the District Public Exhibition where Gasabo partners under the Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) are demonstrating their activities as well as their services.

The Five Day Gasabo Public Exhibition known as the OPEN DAY is taking place at Petit Stade-Remera from 24th May 2019.

Prof. Shyaka launches the Exhibition shortly after closing the Kigali City Councilor’s Week which was launched on Monday this week.

Speaking at the exhibition, Prof. Shyaka commended Gasabo District and Development partners for the tireless effort they jointly make to ensure the well-being of citizens and the District’s Development.

He said “Gasabo being the Source of Rwanda, it should also continue to being an exemplary leader in other good initiatives like the way you have organized this open day.”

Exhibitors include farmers, Public Health Institutions, National and International NGOs, Young Entrepreneurs, tailors, Government organizations among many others.

Other officials at the event were the Mayor of the City of Kigali, other District Mayors, the City and District Council Teams, members of the Private Sector, local leaders and exhibitors among many others.

About JADF

Established by The Ministerial Instructions No. 04/07 of 15/07/2007 defined JADF as the Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) is a multi-stakeholder platform that was put in place to facilitate and promote full participation of citizens in the decentralized and participatory governance and improve service provision processes with representatives from the public sector, private sector and civil society”.

JADF members come from institutions and organisations operating at District level including public, private, local and international NGOs, Faith-based organisations and other development partners.

The mission of JADF is ”  to ensure a sustainable socio-economic development and improved service delivery for Rwandan communities through active participation, dialogue, and accountability by sharing information, effective coordination of stakeholders’ interventions in decentralized entities”.
