Rwanda, USA move to strengthen Military ties
Rwanda Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Vincent Biruta and U.S Ambassador to Rwanda Peter Vrooman signed a Status of Force Agreement (SOFA) to strengthen military cooperation between Rwanda and USA.
Rwanda’s Minister of Defense Maj. Gen. Albert Murasira also witnessed the ceremony.
The US has had close military ties with Rwanda since president Paul Kagame’s Rwandan Patriotic Front came to power after the 1994 genocide. The country’s army is regarded as one the most disciplined and efficient in the region.
