An exhibition of Made in Rwanda organic products to take place in Kigali

Rwanda Organic Agriculture Movement (ROAM), in collaboration with different stakeholders involved in the organic sector in Rwanda is preparing an exhibition of organic products to take place in Kigali on December 8, 2020.

The one-day exhibition which is the first of its kind in Rwanda is called “Mardi Bio- Meet the Farmer, Know the Sourceand will bring together different stakeholders involved in the organic sector including farmers, producers, consumers and  other agripreneurs.

It aims at raising consumer awareness on the benefits of Organic Products, promoting Made in Rwanda Organic products, linking the organic producers and processors with consumers and promoting organic agriculture as an alternative farming method which contributes to healthy environment, food security safe nutrition. 

It will be an opportunity to raise awareness on the benefits of organic but also it will provide linkage opportunities between the organic producers and the market as they sometimes face challenges to access the market for their produce or lack market information, Lise Chantal Dusabe, CEO of Rwanda Organic Agriculture And Movement, has explained.

She said that the fair will mainly focus on exhibition of organic agricultural products, innovations, services and after the exhibition, ROAM will facilitate match-making between producers and end-users as there will be time for interaction for all participants.

The organic agriculture improves the availability and access to affordable, nutritious, and safe food, it sustains the ecosystems, ensures fairness with regard to the common environment and life opportunities but finally organic agriculture protects the health and well-being of the  current and future generations.

ROAM is an umbrella organization of different stakeholders involved in the organic sector in Rwanda.

The exhibition venue will be at ROAM’s Office, Kimironko opposite UR-College of Medicine &Health Sciences (former KIE). It is being organized by Rwanda Organic Agriculture Movement and Youth in Agroecology  business Learning Track Africa (YALTA).
