Atlas Cloud Services launches a sovereign cloud marketplace for Moroccan businesses
Rabat, January 8, 2025 – Atlas Cloud Services (ACS), a subsidiary of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), unveiled the first sovereign cloud marketplace in Morocco during the Move to Cloud event held in Rabat on January 8, 2025.
A key step in UM6P’s commitment to supporting the digitalization of Moroccan businesses, this initiative aims to support companies in their digital transformation by offering them solutions adapted to their specific needs.
The cloud marketplace, developed by ACS and Rkube, is an online platform that allows companies to provision services designed by ACS or compatible with its ecosystem. It also offers cloud-native applications that users can configure and manage autonomously.
By adopting a multicloud architecture, this solution offers Moroccan companies simplified access to various technological services, such as computing, storage, networks, artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). Thanks to a single portal (one-stop shop), users can centralize the management of their cloud platforms, thus optimizing their efficiency and reducing operational costs.
This offer is aimed at all types of companies, as well as strategic sectors such as health, finance and industry, where data sovereignty is essential. It also meets the needs of technology startups, by providing them with offering a scalable, flexible solution adapted to their rapid growth.
Unlike traditional cloud solutions offered by international players, the ACS marketplace stands out due to the location of data in Morocco, full compliance with national regulations and an intuitive interface facilitating user autonomy. The event was attended by Ms. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, responsible for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform. In her speech, she highlighted the role of the cloud in hosting the data needed to develop AI solutions, while emphasizing innovation and research as pillars of a successful digital transition.
