Vietnam desirous of boosting ties with Rwanda and Guinea
Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang affirmed Vietnam’s high regard for the friendship and cooperation with traditional friends in Africa, including Rwanda and Guinea during receptions for Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Rwanda Louise Mushikiwabo and Guinean Foreign Minister Mamadi Toure in Hanoi on August 7.
Quang praised the African ministers for their first visits to Vietnam, which he believes, will contribute to fostering bilateral relations between Vietnam and the two African nations for mutual benefits.
He congratulated the two countries’ achievements in political stability and socio-economic development in recent times, affirming that Vietnam applauds the role and contributions of Guinean President Anpha Conde and Rwandan President Paul Kagame as the rotating presidents of the African Union in 2017 and 2018 in promoting peace, development, regional and international integration of Africa.
The Vietnamese State President greatly appreciated the great strides in political and economic ties, and mutual support and coordination between Vietnam and the two African countries at multilateral forums, and the United Nations in particular.
Building on sound political relations and similarities in development level, Vietnam and African countries have been successfully carried out numerous cooperation projects on agriculture, telecommunication, health and education, thus providing important premises for them to expand cooperation across multiple fields, bringing benefits to Vietnamese people and those in Africa, including Rwanda and Guinea, he noted.
President Quang suggested strengthening all-level delegation exchange towards deepening their cooperation and maximizing their potential.
He underlined the need to come up with specific measures to boost trade ties, and improve legal frameworks to facilitate stronger connections between Vietnam and the two African nations.
With the success of Vietnam’s agricultural projects in many African countries, Quang assured Vietnam’s readiness to share its experience with Rwanda and Guinea in the field through bilateral or multilateral cooperation.
Quang said he hopes that the two countries would offer the best possible conditions for Vietnamese investors and businesses to find their deeper inroads into Rwanda and Guinea in the time to come.
He invited the Presidents of Rwanda and Guinea to visit Vietnam in the time ahead.
In reply, the African ministers extolled the traditional friendship between Rwanda and Guinea and Vietnam, saying that the three countries experienced the difficult historical periods and are now on the path to development.
They also affirmed their countries’ willingness to further step up cooperation with Vietnam in diverse areas in future.
