Saint Gabriel School graduates 129 pupils as it opens new Rusororo branch

KIGALI, Rwanda, July 12, 2026 — Ecole Primaire et Maternelle Saint Gabriel on Sunday graduated 129 pupils, including 58 Primary Six finalists and 71 nursery school learners, during a ceremony held at the school’s newly opened branch in Nyagahinga Cell, Rusororo Sector, Gasabo District.
The graduates completed their studies at the school’s main branch in Nyagatovu Cell, Kimironko Sector, while the graduation ceremony was hosted at the new Rusororo branch, which has begun enrolling nursery and primary school pupils. School leaders said both branches will continue admitting new learners, with the new Rusororo branch expected to expand access to quality education in the area.
The ceremony brought together parents, teachers, local leaders and invited guests to celebrate the graduates’ achievements and the school’s continued growth.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Primary Six pupil Sasha Sindayigaya thanked teachers, parents and the school administration for their dedication throughout the learners’ educational journey.
“We have successfully completed our primary education, and we are confident that we shall pass the Primary Leaving Examination with flying colors,” she said.
Sindayigaya also reflected on memorable moments shared with classmates, including an educational visit to the Ethnographic Museum on June 5, where pupils learned about Rwanda’s culture and history.
Quoting Chinese philosopher Confucius, she encouraged fellow graduates to persevere in pursuing their dreams.
“It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop,” she said, urging them to remain honest, disciplined and respectful wherever they go.
Headteacher Adrienne Mukabadege thanked parents for entrusting the school with their children’s education, saying the institution remains committed to nurturing both academic excellence and good character.
She encouraged children to revise their lessons during the holidays while learning practical life skills such as cooking, sewing and other household responsibilities.
“We will continue strengthening language learning and practical skills,” she said.
Ezechiel Munyabarenzi, parents’ representative, praised teachers for their dedication, care and compassion throughout the children’s education and presented gifts from parents to outstanding teachers in appreciation of their service.
Representing the Executive Secretary of Rusororo Sector, Nyagahinga Cell Executive Secretary Serges Kayitare encouraged graduates to pursue their dreams by embracing what he described as the SODA principle—Smartness, Organized, Discipline and Active.
He also urged parents to strengthen collaboration with schools and engage children in cultural and educational activities during the holidays instead of allowing them to spend excessive time watching television.
Kayitare pledged continued cooperation with the school to support the development of its new branch and improve access to quality education in the community.
Ecole Primaire et Maternelle Saint Gabriel currently enrolls 494 pupils across its two branches.
