President Kagame to hold talks with his French counterpart in New York

Kagame and Macron will hold talks at the sideline of UN General Assembly

“Making the United Nations relevant to all people: global leadership and shared responsibilities for peaceful, equitable and sustainable societies”, is the theme of the general debate of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly to be held from 25 September to 1 October at the Organization’s headquarters in New York.

They will be 84 heads of state and 44 heads of government who will participate from Monday, September 24, 2018 to the 73rd General Assembly of the 193 member states of the organization.

But the absence of 67 member states should not detract from the content of the debates.

Beyond the plenary debates in which the participating States set out their vision of the world, there will be several bilateral and multilateral meetings on topics of common interest.

According to French Newspapers, Emmanuel Macron will insist on the common goods, the climate and the benefits of Multilateralism.

The French president will have bilateral talks with his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, President of the African Union.

The two men will discuss the African issues and the 17th Francophonie summit to be held on October 11 and 12 in Yerevan, Armenia.

As for his Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean Yves Le Drian, he will take part in several other meetings, particularly on humanitarian law and crisis management in the Sahel, Libya and the Central African Republic.

He will finally meet with his Russian counterpart, SERGUEÏ Lavrov to deepen the discussions last May in Versailles (France) on the crises in Syria and Ukraine.

Presidents Tump and Netanyahu will be in a big anti-Iranian crusade.
