Burundi plans to revive its Airline
Burundi is set to land foot in other East African countries as it plans to revive its airline next year, after more than a decade of stagnation.
Following the launch of Uganda Airlines this year and Air Tanzania Co resuming flights, Burundi has also announced that next year 2021 it will bring in Burundi Airlines replacing Air Burundi which has failed to operate for more than a decade.
Burundi Airlines will be controlled primarily by the state, with a 92% stake, while the Belgian Company will have a 4% stake and the rest will be taken over by the Socabu Insurance Company (Société d’Assurances du Burundi) based in Bujumbura.
