Rwanda Premier League: Rayon Sports FC starts with a bang, defeating Gasogi United

In a spectacular start to the Rwanda Premier League, Rayon Sports FC emerged winner in a thrilling match against Gasogi United held at Kigali Pele Stadium on the 18th August 2023.

The much-awaited kick-off of the Rwanda Premier League marked a dazzling beginning as Rayon Sports FC secured a remarkable victory with two goals to one of Gasogi United.

The two goals of Rayon Sports were early marked by Ugandan striker Charles Bbaale on eleventh minute and after only six minutes the Moroccan Youssef Rharb netted the second for the blues of Rwanda with an assist from Ojera.

Gasogi United fought hardly to equalize, launching attacks through the exploits their skipper, Malipangou Theodore, but defensive lines of Rayon Sports FC held strong, with their goalkeeper making crucial saves to preserve the lead.

However, at the 89th minute of the game, Gasogi United got a penalty that was perfectly marked by Malipangou.

The final whistle brought both relief for Rayon Sports FC and their supporters, as the scoreboard read 2-1 in their favor.

The victory marked not only a successful start to the league for Rayon Sports FC but also set the tone for the fierce competition that lies ahead.
