Rwanda Police officers complete marine diver course in Italy
Three Rwanda National Police (RNP) officers, recently completed a Marine Diver Training of Trainers (ToT) in Italy.
The course conducted at the Genoa Scuba Diver Centre, designed to equip experienced divers with the skills necessary to train others.
It is part of the RNP capacity development programme specifically to enhance the internal training capacity to ensure maintenance of high standard of operational readiness.
The course focused on developing instructional skills, technical proficiency, safety and risk management, assessment and evaluation, operational planning, communication and leadership, among others.
This was conducted in the framework of the existing productive cooperation between Carabiniere, the Italian Police and RNP.
The RNP and Carabinieri signed a cooperation agreement in 2017 to exchange best practices and capacity building of the police forces, including training.
