Eritrean Army Crosses Into Ethiopian Territory

Panic and military high alertness could be the description of the situation along the Eritrean and Ethiopian border as armies of both countries are expected to slide into an all-out war.
Eritrea has denied claims its troops are occupying Ethiopian regions along their common border, amid rising tensions between the neighbors and fears of a resumption of conflict.
In a Feb. 7 letter to Eritrea’s foreign ministry, Ethiopia also accused its neighbor of supporting various militant groups opposed to Addis Ababa.
It demanded the “immediate withdrawal of Eritrean troops”.
Ethiopia has accused Eritrea of supporting rebel fighters on Ethiopian soil – allegations Asmara denies.
“Incursions of Eritrean troops further into Ethiopian territory … are not just provocations but acts of outright aggression,” said, Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos.
