Rudi Roeslein Honored with Prestigious Excellence in Bioenergy Award at Global Conference

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – April 6, 2026 – Rudi Roeslein, the founder and board chairman of Roeslein Renewables, was honored with the prestigious Excellence in Bioenergy Award at the 2026 International Biomass Conference & Expo. In addition to receiving the accolade on April 1, Roeslein served as a keynote speaker at the conference, which was held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
The award, presented by BBI International and Biomass Magazine, recognizes Roeslein’s decades of leadership and significant contributions to the bioenergy industry through renewable energy development, conservation, and industrial innovation. He was celebrated alongside fellow honorees Alicia Gibson and Cold Steppe Inc..
In accepting the recognition, Mr. Roeslein emphasized the work still ahead, stating, “My vision has always been at the intersection of a simple Venn diagram where wildlife, ecosystems, and energy come together. When those systems are aligned, we can restore soil health, improve water quality, strengthen rural economies, and produce renewable energy at scale. We’ve shown it works. Now it’s about continuing to build, partner, and stay focused on delivering strong outcomes”.
Roeslein’s commitment to advancing environmental stewardship alongside economic growth has been demonstrated through his work with Roeslein Renewables, which focuses on producing renewable natural gas and sustainable co-products by converting agricultural and industrial waste through anaerobic digestion technologies. His initiatives are particularly noted for their impact through prairie restoration and land conservation.
Anna Simet, Director of Content at BBI International and Senior Editor of Biomass Magazine, highlighted the significance of the award recipients. “Each year, these awards recognize the people and projects pushing the biomass industry forward,” Simet said. “This year’s honorees reflect the innovation, determination, and real-world impact that continue to drive bioenergy forward”.
The International Biomass Conference & Expo, which ran from March 31 through April 2, brought together industry leaders, technology providers, and policymakers to discuss advancements across biomass power, thermal energy, fuels, and biobased products. As a keynote speaker, Roeslein shared his insights on effectively scaling renewable energy solutions and integrating conservation practices to advance the future of sustainable energy systems.
