Umubyeyi Elevate organization will officially launch the Mama Guides, an eight-part women’s health book series authored by Dr. Umunyana Marie Chantal, on June 19, 2026, at the Kigali Convention Centre.

The launch event is expected to attract healthcare professionals, policymakers, development partners, academics, media representatives and community leaders, all gathered around a shared goal of strengthening women’s health education and access to reliable health information.

The Mama Guides present a comprehensive and practical resource covering key stages of a woman’s life, including preconception, pregnancy, antenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, family planning and menopause. The series is designed to translate evidence-based medical knowledge into accessible, culturally relevant guidance that can be used in homes, clinics and communities.

According to Umubyeyi Elevate, the initiative responds to persistent gaps in health literacy and aims to equip women and families with trusted information that supports informed decision making at every stage of life.

“The Mama Guides were created to empower women through knowledge,” said Dr. Umunyana Marie Chantal, the lead author. “When women have access to accurate and understandable health information, they are better equipped to make informed decisions for themselves, their families and their communities.”

The books have been professionally edited and published by Imfura Heritage Publishers, under the leadership of the author Fred Mfuranzima, ensuring clarity, quality and accessibility for a wide audience.

Beyond the official unveiling, the launch will feature keynote addresses, expert panel discussions and exhibitions focused on maternal health, nutrition, mental wellbeing, preventive care and family wellbeing. Organizers also plan to use the event as a platform for discussions on wider distribution, including digital access, translation and regional expansion across Africa.

The initiative reflects Umubyeyi Elevate’s broader mission to bridge health information gaps and strengthen community wellbeing through education and innovation. Organizers say the Mama Guides are intended to serve not only women, but also healthcare workers, educators and institutions seeking reliable, practical health education tools.

Under the theme “Guided by Care: Empowering Women, Strengthening Families, Transforming Communities”, the launch marks what organiser’s describe as a significant step toward improving health literacy and empowering women with knowledge that can positively influence families and communities for generations.
