The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR) on Sunday continued its nationwide program to establish sector-level party structures, extending the initiative to Kagogo and Kinyababa sectors in Burera District.

The exercise forms part of the party’s broader strategy to strengthen its grassroots presence and organizational capacity across the country.

The activities in both sectors brought together Green Party members for meetings and training sessions, during which local party structures were established. The event was presided over by the party’s president, Dr. Frank Habineza.

Speaking to members, Habineza reiterated the Democratic Green Party’s commitment to promoting good governance, environmental protection, unity, and citizen participation in national development.

He reminded members that respect for diversity and rejection of all forms of discrimination remain core values of the party.

“We believe that no form of discrimination should have a place in our party or in Rwandan society, whether based on religion, ethnicity, skin colour, or any other factor,” he said.

Habineza also encouraged party members to actively participate in local government elections and continue contributing constructive ideas aimed at advancing the country’s development.

The establishment of sector-level structures is expected to enhance communication between the party leadership and members at the grassroots level while increasing citizen participation in the party’s activities.

According to the Democratic Green Party, the program launched in Burera District will gradually be rolled out across all 416 sectors of Rwanda. The initiative is intended to strengthen the party’s nationwide structures and deepen engagement with members and local communities.

Party officials say the rollout represents an important step in building stronger grassroots leadership and improving the party’s ability to mobilize and represent citizens at the local level.
