Habineza calls for respectful politics as Green Party establishes structures in Musanze

The President of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR), Dr. Frank Habineza, has called for politics based on mutual respect and non-discrimination as the party expands its structures to the sector level across the country.

Habineza made the remarks on October 10, while opening a meeting and training session for party members in Musanze District, where the party established structures in Muhoza and Cyuve sectors.

“We need sustainable politics that puts mutual respect first. We do not need politics based on discrimination,” Habineza told party members.

The meeting focused on explaining the party’s principles, including democracy, environmental protection, peace and security, while encouraging members to participate in the party’s activities and contribute to national development.

During the exercise, members elected committees for the party, women and youth in the two sectors. The committees are intended to strengthen the party’s local structures and increase the participation of women and young people in its activities.

Habineza also highlighted the importance of democratic governance and peaceful political engagement, encouraging members to uphold the party’s values in their interactions with one another and their communities.

The meeting provided an opportunity for party leaders and members to exchange views on the role of political participation in addressing citizens’ concerns and supporting the country’s development.

The event was also attended by the Guests from Denmark.

The activities in Musanze are part of the DGPR’s broader plan to establish structures in all 416 sectors of Rwanda. The initiative began in Burera District before extending to Gicumbi District and Musanze.

Following the establishment of structures in Muhoza and Cyuve, the party plans to continue the exercise in the district’s remaining 13 sectors.

Through the initiative, the party aims to strengthen its grassroots organization and improve members’ participation in its leadership and activities at the local level.
