By DUSABEMUNGU Ange de la Victoire

The Salesians of Don Bosco in the Africa of Great lakes (AGL) Province have initiated the construction of a Hospitality Center in a way that does not harm the environment.

The Hospitality Center under construction at the Centre des Jeunes Don Bosco Gatenga will be made up of various components including accommodation, Restaurant, Bar and other recreational facilities which will be established in a serene area.

The buildings of this hospitality center will be placed in the designated area without the destruction of available trees.

In addition to the hospitality that will cater different categories of people, it is built to improve the quality of education provided to youth studying in the Hospitality and tourism sector at Don Bosco Gatenga TVET school.

The project also includes the construction of state-of-the-art classrooms and young people will have the opportunity to work at the Hospitality Center as it will serve in a business model to generate income.

Brother Jean Paul Muller, Salesian General Economer recently told the Communications Department of the Africa Great Lakes Province which is made of Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda that this is an initiative to show that it is possible to carry out Development work without harming the environment.

The Government of Rwanda is putting a lot of efforts to address the impact of climate change, but everyone has a role to play in the protection and preservation of the environment.

The project is being implemented at the Don Bosco Gatenga Youth Center with the support of the Germany Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through Don Bosco Mondo.
