Under the starry night sky, amidst the energizing beats and contagious optimism, President Kagame addressed the global citizens gathered for the concert. He emphasized that health is a precious asset that Africa can leverage to overcome its challenges. With pride in his voice, he dedicated the moment to the community health workers who tirelessly keep Africa healthy and safe.
Africa has made significant strides in organizing around health, with countries dedicating 15% of their national budgets to this crucial sector. President Kagame, as the health financing champion for the African Union, expressed his joy in working towards addressing various health-related issues together with other African nations.
The inclusion of health in entertainment and mass sport is a shining example set by Rwanda. As the country embraces Move Afrika, it aims to promote not only music and culture but also the importance of health. This unique initiative seeks to bring global citizens to Kigali every year, further emphasizing Rwanda’s commitment to health and unity.
The need for healthy people across Africa cannot be overstated. A continent with healthy individuals is poised to achieve greatness and overcome its challenges. Healthy citizens are more productive, have better access to education, and contribute significantly to economic growth. They are the backbone of a prosperous and thriving society.
Furthermore, healthy people are better equipped to handle emergencies and pandemics. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of a robust healthcare system and well-trained healthcare workers. By investing in health, Africa can build resilience against future health crises and protect its citizens.
Rwanda serves as an inspiration for the continent, demonstrating that health should be a priority not only in policies but also in everyday life. By combining entertainment and health, Move Afrika Concert aims to spread awareness and inspire individuals to take charge of their well-being.
As the concert came to a close, President Kagame expressed his hope of seeing the global citizens return to Rwanda in the near future. He wished everyone a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year, urging them to continue working together towards a healthier and united Africa.
