Rwanda’s New Minister of Sports Focuses on Collaborative Approach to Achieve Sporting Goals
Nyirishema Richard, the newly appointed Minister of Sports in Rwanda, has outlined his plans to collaborate with various partners to achieve the country’s sporting goals. Along with other members of the government appointed by President Paul Kagame, Minister Nyirishema was sworn in on Wednesday, August 19, 2024.
Speaking to the Country Television, Minister Nyirishema expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by President Kagame and emphasized his readiness to contribute to the development of sports in Rwanda. He highlighted the importance of listening to partners and working together to achieve success in sports.
Nyirishema emphasized the need to align with partners, including sports federations and other ministries connected to sports, to ensure a unified approach towards achieving sporting excellence. He stressed the importance of not only setting goals but also determining how those goals will be achieved.
Prior to his appointment as Minister of Sports, Nyirishema served as the Vice President for Competitions at the Basketball Association.
Minister Nyirishema’s collaborative approach and focus on achieving set goals through partnerships signals a promising future for sports development in Rwanda under his leadership.
