Six-Point Gap: Barcelona Thrashes Real Madrid in Epic El Clasico

Barcelona secured a six-point lead over rivals Real Madrid in El Clasico, thanks to two goals from Robert Lewandowski in just three minutes.

Real Madrid were looking to surpass Barcelona’s record of 43 unbeaten league games between April 2017 and May 2018.

The team’s goalless first half was frustrated by their opponents’ catastrophic second-half performance, with Lewandowski’s clinical finish from Marc Casado breaking the deadlock.

Lewandowski scored a goal, surprising the hosts by heading Alejandro Balde’s cross into the right corner. The Poland striker missed two chances to complete a hat trick, hitting the woodwork from the first and firing over from a good position.

Lamine Yamal, a 17-year-old Spanish star, scored Barcelona’s third goal in El Clasico, becoming the youngest-ever scorer in the competition. Raphinha scored his first goal against Real Madrid by lobbing a fourth late on.

Kylian Mbappe’s first match in the famous fixture ended in defeat, with two goals disallowed for offside and Inaki Pena’s goal denied.

Barcelona finished 10 points behind Real Madrid in La Liga last season and is relying on primarily young players for success this season. Hansi Flick’s team has been successful in their approach, winning 10 league games and losing only one.

Barcelona’s youth academy produced six players in their match, including Yamal, Casado, and Balde. Lewandowski, a 36-year-old striker, led the youngsters with a double, bringing his La Liga goal tally to 14. Real Madrid, despite their youth and experience, were blown away by Barcelona’s second-half display.
