D&D Karuse Foundation, Tropi Wanda Ltd Celebrate Educational Achievements for Underprivileged Children in Rwanda

Kicukiro District, Rwanda – December 22, 2024 – The D&D Karuse Foundation held a heartfelt event on Sunday to celebrate its significant strides in advancing education for children from underprivileged families throughout Rwanda.

The gathering took place in Nyarugunga Sector, the heart of both the foundation and Tropi Wanda Ltd, a company dedicated to exporting fruits and vegetables.

The event was a vibrant assembly of parents and children who have directly benefited from the foundation’s initiatives, alongside employees from Tropi Wanda Ltd.

Many employees of Tropi Wanda Ltd have children who receive support from the D&D Karuse Foundation, underlining the company’s mission to empower families through education and job creation.

This occasion marked a triple celebration: a recognition of the fruitful collaboration between the D&D Karuse Foundation and Tropi Wanda Ltd, Recognizing top performers Employees while also sharing warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with all the beneficiaries.

Attendees were moved by testimonials from parents, religious leaders, and children, who expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Mrs. Marie Ange Ingabire, a staunch supporter of the D&D Karuse Foundation.

The Foundation has significantly impacted 86 students across various educational levels, ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive academically.

The foundation was founded by siblings Karuse Ishimwe Delice and Derrick Abimana Karuse, with the essential support of their mother, Mrs. Ingabire Marie Ange Claudine.

Their mission is clear: to provide every child, regardless of their background, with access to quality education and opportunities for a brighter future.

In an Interview with TOP AFRICA NEWS, Karuse Ishimwe Delice, co-founder of the D&D Karuse Foundation, highlighted the growth of the organization.

 “Our initial focus was on aiding students academically by supplying school materials and covering tuition fees. Thanks to generous sponsorships, we’ve expanded our reach from 23 beneficiaries to 86, encompassing university, secondary, and primary education levels. The positive impact on academic performance is evident.”

 Looking ahead, Delice affirmed the foundation’s commitment to advocating for children in need, emphasizing the importance of uplifting those less fortunate than themselves.

Their vision includes hosting an annual Christmas event to celebrate achievements and strategize for future improvements.

The foundation aims to assist a thousand students in the coming years, with plans to support at least 150 in the upcoming year.

Marie Ange Claudine Ingabire, founder and CEO of Tropi Wanda Ltd, shared her insights on the company’s role in social development.

“Tropi Wanda Ltd is not just a trading company; it’s a means to contribute to community development through Corporate Social Responsibility. We have transitioned from merely providing school supplies to covering tuition fees, all thanks to the support from our Social Department.”

Ingabire elaborated on the company’s sustainable approach, stating, “After expenses, we allocate a portion of our remaining profit to help children under 18. We believe in empowering youth by providing them with skills and opportunities to become self-reliant.”

Instead of providing handouts, Tropi Wanda Ltd has created employment opportunities for parents, fostering both economic independence and community ties.

Currently employing about 400 individuals, the company significantly impacts the local economy, with nearly a thousand people involved in the entire process from harvesting to exporting their products abroad.

As the D&D Karuse Foundation continues to forge paths for underprivileged children in Rwanda, the spirit of collaboration and community support shines brightly, paving the way for a promising future for the next generation.
