La Francophonie Sec.Gen In Laos For Working Visit

Louise Mushikiwabo the Secretary General of the La Francophonie on Thursday arrived in Laos capital Vientiane for a working visit.

The OLF boss was received by the Loas Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Thongsavanh Phomvihane.

“They exchanged views on the OIF’s cooperation projects being carried out in #Laos and called for their strengthening, particularly in the areas of teaching in and through French, training in French for diplomats and civil servants, economic cooperation and exchanges, as well as sustainable development and renewable energies,” OLF said in a short statement.

Mushikiwabo was also hosted by the Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

During their discussions, they congratulated each other on the cooperation between the OIF and Laos and expressed their willingness to strengthen it on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of this country’s membership in the Organization.

According to the Laos government, the two officials discussed the international situation as well as the preparations for the 20th Summit of Francophonie in Phnom Penh.
