The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) has announced that Rwanda earned over Rwf 12 billion from agricultural and livestock exports within just five days, from April 20 to April 24, 2026.

During this short period, the country exported a total of 8,101 tonnes of products, reflecting the growing strength and competitiveness of Rwanda’s agriculture and livestock sectors on the global market. Among the key exports, coffee reached 130 tonnes, generating Rwf 945 million, while tea exports totaled 854 tonnes, bringing in Rwf 3.4 billion.

Horticultural products also made a significant contribution. Vegetables amounting to 261 tonnes generated over Rwf 701 million, while fruits totaling 288 tonnes earned more than Rwf 374 million. Additionally, flower exports reached 17 tonnes, contributing Rwf 131 million.

Other crops, including tubers, legumes, and cereals, accounted for the largest share in volume, with 6,213 tonnes exported and generating Rwf 5.8 billion. In the livestock category, 337 tonnes of animals and animal products were exported, earning more than Rwf 719 million.

These exports were shipped to various international markets, including the United States, Oman, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, India, and several African countries, highlighting Rwanda’s expanding global trade footprint.

This strong performance builds on the country’s 2025 export achievements, where Rwanda generated over $3.6 billion from exports, reinforcing the critical role of agriculture and livestock as key pillars of the national economy.
