KOABIGA Launches agricultural season A 2020-2021

Gasabo based Union of Farmers’ Cooperatives with the same Goal (KOABIGA) has launched preparatory activities for the agricultural season A 2020-2021.
Together with its members, partners and even the representatives of Rwanda Agriculture Board, Rubirizi station, on 21ST September 2020, they began with a model field where they planted maize as one of the crops that will be given due consideration during this Agriculture season.
The launch took place in the Urugarama zone, one of five Agricultural zones covering the Agricultural region occupied by this Cooperative in the Gasabo district, City of Kigali.
During the event, farmers also expressed their gratitude to YARA company which donates 10 tons of fertilizer.
As foreseen in its Agricultural program, 60 ha will occupy maize cultivation and 103 ha will occupy horticulture.
Union of Cooperatives of Farmers with the Same Goal known as KOABIGA is famous Cooperative which cultivate vegetables with French beans being one of the most cultivated crops followed by other types of vegetables namely tomatoes, garden eggs, cabbages among many others.
As a rotation of crops, the cooperative also cultivate other crops which include Maize Plantation.
