Members of the City of Kigali Council Elected
In Thursday’s elections held in the districts of the City of Kigali, six councilors were elected to represent their respective districts in the City Council. These councilors, along with the six appointed by the President of the Republic, will form the Council of the City of Kigali and elect members of the Executive Committee and Council Bureau.
In Nyarugenge District, Eugene Martine and Dr. Muhammed Semakula were elected to represent the district in the City Council. In Gasabo District, Gatera Frank and Baguma Rose were chosen as councilors, while Tsinda Aimé and Nyinawinkindi Liliose Larisse were elected to represent Kicukiro District.
The election process saw candidates presenting their intentions and plans to improve the quality of life for citizens, focusing on issues such as transportation and access to infrastructure. The voting assembly consisted of members of the Council of Sectors in each district.
The newly elected councilors are now tasked with representing their districts in the City Council and working towards the development and progress of the City of Kigali.
