Dr. Frank Habineza Vows Nutritious School Meals for Rwanda’s Students
Dr. Frank HABINEZA, the chairperson and presidential candidate of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR), announced plans to prioritize the well-being of students through nutritious school meals.
This pledge was made at a campaign rally in the Busoro Sector, Nyanza District, on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Innocent IYAKAREMYE, Green Party chairman in Southern province, welcomed party candidates, including the presidential candidate and 50 party MP candidates, and urged Nyanza district residents to welcome and understand the party’s plans.
He said, “Listen carefully to what the party is planning so that you can choose sustainable development.”
The Executive Secretary of the Busoro Sector, Jean Paul HABINEZA, commended the party’s dedication to promoting sustainable development in Rwanda and urged the public to comprehend the Green Party candidates’ plans to aid in their decision-making process.
The party’s Secretary General and campaign manager, Jean Claude NTEZIMANA, told the residents of Nyanza District that the party’s three Parliament seats are a result of their votes, aiming for sustainable development.
In 2018, the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda presented deputy candidates and won the votes to allow two of them to have two seats in the Parliament: Hon. Dr. Frank HABINEZA and Hon. Jean Claude Ntezimana, and Senator Alex MUGISHA in the senate, who have been in this position for six years.
“Green Party does not lie; we have achieved over 70% of our manifesto projects. We ask for your vote to enable more progress,” NTEZIMANA said.
Dr. Frank Habineza, the presidential candidate, promised Nyanza district residents that if elected, he would establish a system for nutritious school meals.
He said, “We want the children to eat well at school; the meal that contains enough nutrients; we asked for the provision of food to schoolchildren; that has been done, but it is not enough; it has to be done in a healthy place, not in schools; this will be achieved if elected president.”
Habineza’s party also plans to boost food self-sufficiency through irrigation, reduce VAT tax from 18% to 14%, eliminate unemployment, create 5,000 jobs annually, increase doctor salaries, and establish production units and job search centers.
DGPR in Rwanda’s parliament achieved significant achievements, including a reduction in property tax from 300 Frw/m2 to 80 Frw/m2, a change in land rental title from 20 to 99 years, and immediate access to mutual health insurance without waiting 1 month.
