Mikenke Liberated By AFC/M23/Twirwaneho

The coalition of AFC/M23/Twirwaneho rebels has today announced they have retaken Mikenke located in the highlands of Minembwe.

The fierce fighting ejected the government troops supported by Burundian army and Wazalendo militia who has been in Mikenke for three days.

The battle hardened AFC/M23 (ARC) has adopted a new operational strategy.

The rebels have a new special commando mobile unit assigned to complex missions aimed at intercepting enemy plans.

Over 1518 Commandos are drafted into the ARC mobile unit which heavily relies on accurate intelligence to plan and overwhelm the enemy.

With good intelligence, the commandos in this mobile unit can walk hundreds of kilometers to carryout preemptive strikes against the enemy and return to their garrison without being detected.
