Deliberate Decision: PL Chairperson Explains Support for Paul Kagame to RPF Supporters in Bugesera District
Mukabalisa Donatille, the Leader of the Liberal Party (PL), explained the rationale behind their decision to support Paul Kagame, the candidate of the FPR-Inkotanyi.
She emphasized that their choice was made thoughtfully, as they recognized his good governance as instrumental in steering the country away from challenging circumstances.
Speaking at the RPF Presidential campaign in Bugesera District on Saturday, 6 June, 2024, Mukabalisa stated, “We, the PL, have carefully deliberated and come to a consensus to endorse him for the upcoming presidential elections. The myriad of reasons we based our decision on are too numerous to list, but suffice it to say that President Kagame has proven himself as a remarkable leader who has steered our country towards prosperity.”
During the event in Bugesera District, Mukabalisa highlighted Kagame’s role in halting the genocide against the Tutsis in 1994 and subsequently rebuilding the nation into a place where all citizens take pride in being Rwandans. She commended his efforts in restoring hope among Rwandans, fostering unity, ensuring safety, and enhancing Rwanda’s reputation on the global stage.
Mukabalisa lauded Kagame’s accomplishments in improving infrastructure, including water, electricity, and roads, which have facilitated better communication and connectivity. In particular, she acknowledged the significance of road construction in Bugesera District that has strengthened transportation links within the district and beyond.
Furthermore, Mukabalisa expressed gratitude for initiatives such as the Bugesera International Airport, the development of medical facilities, educational expansion, and housing projects aimed at supporting vulnerable populations. She celebrated the positive impact of these endeavors on the overall well-being and longevity of Rwandans.
Highlighting Kagame’s commitment to gender equality, Mukabalisa noted Rwanda’s pioneering status in empowering women in leadership roles. She urged all Rwandans to unite in supporting Kagame’s vision for a prosperous and inclusive nation.
